TrueFieldIQ

Turning a 900-page parts catalog into a field sales channel.

3.5xIncrease in catalog sessions
62%Faster part lookup in the field
41%Lift in organic part-number traffic

The problem

A manufacturer with thousands of SKUs was distributing its catalog as a PDF. Field technicians standing in front of a machine had to know a part number before they could find anything, and the manufacturer had no visibility into what people searched for and failed to find.

What we did

We inverted the search model. Instead of searching by part number, the technician identifies the equipment they are servicing and the catalog returns compatible parts. We added OCR nameplate scanning for the case where the model plate is legible but the paperwork is long gone, and an AI product assistant trained on the manufacturer's own documentation.

  • Equipment-model-first search built on a normalized compatibility graph
  • Branded iOS and Android apps plus an indexable public web catalog
  • Structured data on every part page so individual SKUs rank in search
  • A market intelligence portal exposing search gaps and geographic demand

Why the web catalog mattered for SEO

The apps served existing customers. The public, server-rendered catalog served everyone else — thousands of part pages with proper schema markup, each one able to rank for the part-number searches technicians were already running. That was where the organic lift came from.

The result

Lookup time in the field dropped by roughly 62%. More usefully, the manufacturer could finally see which searches returned nothing — a direct, evidence-backed input into what to stock and what to build next.
